I got this amp with my BC Rich KKV2 Handmade for a decent price of $899. I hooked it with a Boss GT-8 and then I was surprised. The sound was awesome. I then tried it without the multi-effects with the lead feature on and the knob set to METAL. Believe me, the sound was comparable to the sound from the GT-8. The reverb and the chorus was neat and matched up with my pedal.
The acoustic sound was very good and it had no extra noise. I compared it with my other two amps: Crate GT65X and Marshall 101DFX and after playing some dream theater songs which contained variety of effects i was really surprised for this amp to be on par with the other two amps in terms of sound quality and not power.
Pros:
1) Roland's COSM modeled amps similar to the Boss GT pedals.
2) Awesome digital effects
3) 2 channel configuration with Power squeezer.(If you want more from this unit)
4) Tuner was sometimes helpful.
Cons
1) Not so much to talk about. Only that the button and knob panel should have been on the front side rather than top. The cords get bent and you have to at the top for tuning the effects. That's sometimes trouble some.
2) Could have had more power. 30W is decent but 45W could have been awesome for an amp for this size.
Overall:
Awesome amp. For practice and performing small gigs.
COSM amps rock so dont worry if you don't have a multieffect pedal. This amp takes care of everything.
