PRS SE Custom 22 Guitar, Cherry Sunburst with Tremolo Bridge Review

I bought one of these with the stopback bridge and not the tremolo. I think it is the finest guitar you'll find under $1000.
I don't know the whole story, but yes, they were made in Korea... But you won't find anything for that price made in the US.
I don't know about the 2 star review (above) maybe the quality dropped off and that's why they are discontinued... I don't know.
Mine was/is superb quality (note the 5star reviews for the stopback model)
And now I'm saving up for a real one (U.S. Made)

The SE Custom is a flat-top double cutaway with a mahogany back, maple top, a curly maple veneer and a natural maple binding.

The SE Custom 22
Playability That Won't Break the Bank Featuring a mahogany body with maple top and flamed maple veneer, a three-piece wide-fat neck with rosewood fingerboard and moon inlays, PRS-designed pickups and chrome hardware, the SE Custom 22 provides utility and quality at a reasonable price.
HFS Pickups Originally meaning Hot, Fat and Screams, the HFS features a powerful ceramic magnet and hot coils for an aggressive tone when cranked, clear highs, searing midrange and thumping bass.
The SE Custom produces a wide range of tonal possibilities enhanced by a variety of switching options including master volume, master tone, and 3-way toggle pickup selector.
Wide Fat Neck The Wide Fat neck has the same nut width as the Wide Thin neck but has a big comfortable profile, similar to PRS's Regular neck. Because of its strength and longer "heel," the Wide Fat neck produces warm tones with lots of sustain.
PRS Tremolo Back in 1984, Paul Reed Smith was granted a patent on his tremolo system. The design elements are simple and resemble the traditional fulcrum tremolo but with some important differences that help ensure return to pitch and a lack of tuning instability. All adjustment screws are inset and made of brass, and there are no rough edges. The tremolo arm stays where you put it, and won't wobble or break off.
SE Custom Available Colors The SE Custom is available in Cherry Sunburst, Gray Black, and Tobacco Sunburst finishes.
Finish PRS finishes their instruments with a polyester basecoat and acrylic urethane topcoat. Acrylic urethane looks and feels the closest to the old nitro-cellulose finishes but without the finish checking.
The PRS Mission Statement Guitar building is an ongoing process of discovery. We are devoted to the guitar's rich heritage while committed to new technologies that will enrich our products with uncompromised tone, playability and beauty. PRS SE One Guitar, Tobacco Sunburst Review

PRS SE One Guitar, Tobacco Sunburst

This is a Korean-made PRS copy of a Les Paul, Jr. It sounds and plays better and is 1/3 the price. There's a single P-90 style pickup and no tone knob, so obviously not the kind of thing you're going to get a large variety of sounds from. I've heard that the pickup and its hole are smaller than regular Gibson P-90s, which would be a problem if you wanted to swap it out. The pickup's a bit trebly to me, but since half my gear has equalizers on it this is not a problem. The tuners could be a bit stronger -- too easy to bend the G out. Neck is wide and fat, which makes for a unique and excellent playing experience. Overall, I'd give this 4 stars, but at the price you can get one for, easily a 5.

The SE One is a single pickup, single knob, single cutaway SE for the musician who desires a no frills approach to get his music across.

The SE One
Keep It Simple The SE One's high-output, single-coil soapbar pickup is all you need for crisp, snappy sound. Back it off with the volume control. Plug in and play--what else is there?
Wide Fat Neck The Wide Fat neck has the same nut width as the Wide Thin neck but has a big comfortable profile, similar to PRS's Regular neck. Because of its strength and longer "heel," the Wide Fat neck produces warm tones with lots of sustain.
PRS Stoptail Bridge Designed to take full advantage of the resonant properties of their guitars, PRS's Stoptail Bridge provides direct transmission of string vibration to the guitar body and makes set-up a breeze. First used in 1991 on the PRS Dragon I guitar, it now appears on almost half of all PRS guitars sold. This bridge features slots that recess the strings comfortably as they pass over the top, in a gentle curve. Although it is pre-compensated for modern string gauges, fine-tuning is possible by adjusting the set screws at each end of the bridge.
Available Colors The SE One is available in Antique White and Tobacco Sunburst finishes.
Finish PRS finishes their instruments with a polyester basecoat and acrylic urethane topcoat. Acrylic urethane looks and feels the closest to the old nitro-cellulose finishes but without the finish checking.
