(More customer reviews)I have short fingers and was thrilled to learn that guitars are being made to fit a woman's hands. To my disappointment, the Fauna Butterfly's frets were 1/16th of an inch shorter than the Alvarez Acoustic guitar that I own which isn't going to make reaching those frets any easier. The neck was just as wide as my Alvarez. In comparison, the Daisy Rock electric that I own has frets a quarter inch shorter than a standard guitar; the neck on the Daisy Rock is more narrow than the Luna. Outside of that, the action was set very nicely; all of the fret markers were perfect (no buzzing). The maple top gives a "brighter" sound than a spruce top, but not as big of a sound as the body is a bit smaller than my standard size acoustic. It plays very well and the electric pickup is nice to have and includes a tuner as well which is a sweet feature. The inlay work is beautiful as is the finish which makes it difficult for me to decide if I'm going to keep this guitar that isn't going to be any easier for me to play. Decisions, decision.!

Fender Super Champ XD Electric Guitar Amplifier Review

(More customer reviews)Fender finally did it, designed and built the best practice amp in the world. Bear in mind, the cynic in me usually tempers hyperbole about products. In any case, this amp sounds great regardless of what's driving it; I currently play a Gibson ES-175D, an Epiphone Sheraton, and a Yamaha Pacifica equipped with Kinman pickups. (I soon hope to get another Stratocaster, and install my Kinmans it it, but I digress.)
Like a tube amp should, and like *no* solid state amp can, the Super Champ XD responds dynamically to varying pick attack. In addition, all of it's emulations sound more convincing *because* it's a tube amp.
Re. the emulations, to my ears, the "Blackface" mode sounds most convincing of all, very Stevie Ray, especially in Voice Position 6. The "Tweed" emulation sounds equally convincing, but I'm not as big a fan of that, somewhat darker tonality. The "British" emulations sound like a cross between Marshall and Vox, not quite either, but a compromise between the two. The "Hot Rod" emulation sounds quite a bit like a Mesa Boogie, and I'm sure a PRS or Les Paul player can pretend to be Carlos, accordingly. I have yet to play around much with the "Metal", "Jazz", or "Acoustic" emulations.
Emulations aside, I think what makes this amp sound so good, is the speaker. Apparently, some reviewers at harmonycentral.com and musiciansfriend.com seem to disagree, but I think the speaker makes this amp sound *huge*, even at low volumes. In fact, I dare say it sounds as big and punchy as the Bandmaster I used to own, many years ago.

And it has the signature ovation "sound."
I tried this out at the local guitar store, and the looks totally won me over, but the tone did not. Thin, tinny, and flat sounding isn't really my cup of tea, but I'd say this would be a fantastic live instrument, as the body is quite feedback-resistant..just don't bring it into the studio.
To reiterate, this is a beautiful guitar, with outstanding live capabilities, but an unplugged tone rivaling that of a $100 small-bodied guitar.

(More customer reviews)I have used this transmitter on my electric violin for over a year and am so happy I bought it. I thought I would like the freedom of being wireless but now that I'm used to it could never see myself going back to using a cord. It's like thinking about using a corded landline telephone.
The sound quality is very good. I even use it in the studio to produce albums. You can hear samples on my website by listening to "Remember" or "Here and Now" which were both recorded using the wireless unit.
There is likely a slight increase in noise but I am willing to accept that to gain the freedom of movement that allows for clearer artistic expression. I'll never go back.

(More customer reviews)I originally bought this because the price was right - it was brand new and discounted slightly so getting a new Les Paul Flame Top for less that two grand was too good to be true.
Boy, did I NOT anticipate how great this instrument sounds and feels. And, the beautiful maple top is indistinguishable from the pricier, rare, Flametop R9s.
The neck is thick and great and just simple a joy to play. I've never had a pleck'd guitar, but it's miles from my old rickety les pauls and sgs; it's an innovation that I can't stress enough!
This is the one guitar I don't think I"ll ever part with - I could become homeless, but I'll be playing this Flametop Les Paul.
Seriously if you're a lefty looking at options, and if you like the thicker neck, this is your dream guitar.

(More customer reviews)I've had this guitar for about a month now, after replacing/upgrading from an Ibanez RG220 that died a few months ago. The EMG pickups are the most noticeable difference between my old Ibanez and the Schecter. They are extremely crisp and edgy compared to the more rounded-off tone of the Ibanez humbuckers that I was used to. The playability of the fretboard and set-up of the bridge is a big step up from my Ibanez as well. All-in-all, the Schecter Damien Elite is a top-value guitar for the $500 price point. If you're a metal guitarist, I encourage you to take it for a "test drive".

(More customer reviews)I bought the J5 Squier Telecaster with really low expectations, not to be picking on Squier by any means, but I wasn't expecting what I got. This guitar flat-out rocks!!!! I opened it up expecting it to need a full setup but I was pleasantly surprised - it didn't - it was barely out of tune and when I plugged it in and slammed a power chord.........my hair blew back!!! I have several guitars and since I have had the J5 Squier, I find myself reaching for it more often than not and I'm a Strat guy for the most part. Squier and John 5 really have done a fantastic job here and for the price, this is just a steal. The only dig I can find is that there's no tone control, both knobs are volume and they are basically either off or on, not much control but that can be changed. I just plain love this guitar and can't praise its virtues enough. If you're looking for an inexpensive guitar with huge tone, then what are you waiting for?
