This Razorback DB boasts Two Tone Silver Blast, one of Dime Bag's original finishes. With its aggressive style and graphics, it screams "metal" and backs it up with fast action, high-output pickups, a Floyd Rose locking tremelo system, and plenty of access to upper frets.

Dime ItThe late great Dimebag Darrell is a serious metal guitar hero, and Dean's series of Dimebag models pays homage. Dimebag started playing Dean ML style guitars in the late '70s, and made it one of the most recognizable shapes today. Dean offers a wide variety of Dimebag models to choose from, all boasting Dimebag's distinctive look and tons of mojo and attitude.

Mahogany BodyDean uses a mahogany body for this beast (as with many of its guitars).Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.

Set Neck ConstructionThe Razorback Cemetery Gates features a set mahogany neck, which imparts all the well-known advantages of that style: a warmer overall tone with extended low-end response, wicked sustain, and easy upper-fret access. The 24-3/4-inch scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard with classic dot inlays.

Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Bridge Pickup Seymour's SH-13 Dimebuckers were designed with the man himself to provide serious output and an aggressive tone. The Dimebucker uses a powerful ceramic magnet and stainless steel blades for serious crunch. The SH-13 boasts more treble bite than a lot of humbuckers, along with low-end punch and exceptional dynamics.

A Dean humbucker completes the package up in the neck position, each pickup getting its own volume conrol, along with a shared tone and three-way toggle.

Spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Sounds great out of the box. I did adjust the bridge height, neck and put new strings on. Nice action no buzz, great intonation up and down the neck. Perfect guitar for live stage use, great sound without breaking the bank. Sounds very clean through amp and PA. mother of pearl inlay Hohner logo on headstock.

(More customer reviews)Somehow, mysteriously, the price on this guitar dropped below $400.00 momentarily here, and I snagged one. I really like it.
With the exception of some visible glue spots inside, fit and finish are just great. Tone is even, surprisingly strong, although a bit bass-shy, just as I'd wanted for recording. A Tonerite has been sitting on the guitar for about a week now and made an amazing difference in an already very nice sounding instrument.
The guitar intonates excellently, my tech said the action and intonation were perfect and needed no adjustment, and I'm very happy.
ON EDIT, several weeks later: more and more ToneRite makes a wonderful budget guitar more and more complex and satisfying to play. Very happy I chose this instrument.

(More customer reviews)Think of the Q-Chord as a digital autoharp that never goes out of tune, plays 84 chords instead of 21, includes a built drum machine and has a midi output pickup, and you will be pretty close to the mark.
I tried a Q-Chord at a local music store as a possible songwriting tool for some musicals I have just about finished. I didn't buy on the spot, mostly because there are just to many darned buttons to figure out! As usual in America today, the sales clerk had no idea how to make the Q-Chord rock.
Impressed by the hype, but baffled by the machine, I found the owner's manual online. That's were I learned it really WILL play major, minor and seventh chords each with the touch of one button. By combining two buttons, you can also play major 7th and minor 7th chords, plus augmented and diminished chords in all 12 keys. With 10 different rhythms (20 more available at extra cost) and a choice of accompanyment modes (chord mode; chords, bass and drums; or bass and drums only) and much more, I should be able to finish my musicals fairly quickly.

(More customer reviews)First, I need to explain that I really like good guitars with a single pickup. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's less magnetic pull on the string. Maybe it's less wire. Maybe it's just less parts, but there is a bond between a player and a good single pickup guitar that really communicates. I'm the same way about amps and effects. The less knobs the better. Make it sound good at the core and you don't need parametric notch frequency option doodads to even think about. It frees your mind to just play. I have my Strats, Teles, a '335, Les Paul, Brian May, Parker and other good stuff which I do enjoy and I am not remotely criticizing them for having more than one pickup. I am in fact a pickup switcher when the option is there (different selector positions, not pickup replacement) and that is useful too. But in my head, a good single pickup guitar frees me and I sound more like me.

These wood bodied versions of the famous plexiglass guitar is absolutely fitting for the design of this guitar. The body and finish are thin enough that the wood gets to party and add its signature to the tone. It plays absolutely great with a good medium fret that is not a honkin' jumbo, but large enough to reduce finger flesh drag on the fretboard wood when bending strings. The guitar is fun to play.

Now where can I get a Rock Treble single coil drop-in replacement pickup? I do like the Sustain Treble humbucker that comes with the guitar very much, but I'd sure like to try the other pickup since swapping is so simple. What is the point of an easy swap system if Ampeg (Armstrong) doesn't make optional pickups available for purchase? I'm having a bit of trouble with that concept. I'm sure that Dan Armstrong has loads of copyright protection for the quick connect system... enough to keep Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, Lollar, Fralin etc away. Besides, comparatively speaking there really aren't that many of these guitars out there, so it wouldn't be an instantaneous cash cow to design and market pickup options because Armstrong is leaving that door wide open by their inaction.

It's a really good guitar with the included humbucker, so I'm not at any significant level of frustration over lack of pickup options, but the quick swap thing is a big selling feature... can I purchase something to swap to? Soon? Maybe I'll like the original 'bucker better after all, but I sure would like to have an official option or two to actually USE that quick swap feature.

(More customer reviews)I've always wanted to get my hands on an Ovation guitar, but never had the opportunity to buy one, as these guitars are extremely expensive in my country. Finally I decided to buy one through ZoZo Music's Amazon shop (excellent, fast service, by the way) and let me tell you, I absolutely love my decision to get one of these babies.
The sound of this guitar is awesome, clear, and deep. Warm and soothing. You won't believe how good it sounds and plays. It comes with a built-in tuner (which is a great thing, by the way) and an equalizer. ZoZo was even kind enough to throw in a strap and amp cables (don't know if all Ovations come with these accessories, though).
This guitar is loud. And believe me, I do mean LOUD! I plugged that into my amp and damn, was it loud. I had to turn the volume down to 2.
Anyways, beautiful guitar. Sounds great. Plays great. And feels sturdy enough. If you don't have one, GET ONE!

Steinberger Spirit GT-Pro Standard Electric Guitar, White Review

(More customer reviews)I own 2 of these, one a Deluxe, and one a Standard. These are fine guitars for the money, with some amazing features. They can cover all the basics, have good sustain, stay in tune very well, and are awesomely comfortable to play, sitting or standing (or jumping). I like them so much I'm thinking of getting another to replace one I've been using for 9 years now.
There's nothing like a headless, almost bodyless guitar -- it seems like it would feel weird, but after an hour or two, you're used to it and soon, you'll wish all your guitars were headless.
But the headless, minimalist shape is so amazingly comfortable, so well balanced! These guitars are all maple, with a one-piece thru-body neck. They're solidly built and have a bright, Fender-ish tone. The pickups aren't amazing, but they are easy to replace -- on any guitar in this price range, you can't expect much for pickups and wiring, but if you're not picky, these are fine. If you are picky, they're easily replaced.
The zero fret probably helps its sustain, which is quite good, and the open strings sound better to me than guitars with a normal nut instead of the zero fret. The guitar has 24 more frets, making it a 2-octave fingerboard, and it's scale length is close to or equal to a Stratocaster, which contributes to a bright tone with plenty of harmonics. The vibrato bridge has a locking feature that lets you disable the whammy, and that really comes in handy on a gig if you break a string mid-song.
One drawback to these things is that they use non-standard parts, and you just can't get replacement parts for the bridge. Any guitar bridge with a whammy might wear out, if you use it heavily as I've done with mine, but with other guitars, you have lots of choices for replacement bridges. With these, you get almost no choices, and none that are easy to find. That's why I'm keeping a watch on these and buying another when I can -- this guitar is too awesome, and a really good value.
The rest of the guitar has held up wonderfully over the past decade. Neck is in good shape, frets are fine, paint job still good, tone remains awesome. I use it with a Roland VG system, and it's just fabulous. I can't praise this cheap little Steinberger "boat oar" enough.
