Ion iGP03C Electric Guitar Kit with Gig Bag Review

Ion iGP03C Electric Guitar Kit with Gig Bag

i bought this guitar and i was very happy with it as i knew nothing about guitars, i then compared this to other guitars like fender, gibson and ibanez and i was shocked. I have been playing guitar for 3 years now and i am now a proud owner of a gibson les paul. This guitar has no tone, it doesn't give you the feel other guitars give you. The pickups are lifeless, the tone and volume controls get wobbly after a few touches and the 5-way selector feels cheap. The amp is ok for starters but the lead that comes with it makes a horrible buzzing sound which gets higher when you put on distortion and turn the volume up, so aslong as you buy a new cable the amp should be ok.
If you really want a guitar worth your money at this price then go for a fender squier strat which has just about everything this pack has but the guitar and amp are so much better, even if the amp is 10-WATT on the fender and its 15-WATT on the ion version, the fender sounds so much more lively

Washburn T24 - Natural Mahogany Bass Guitar with Deluxe Gigbag Review

Washburn T24 - Natural Mahogany Bass Guitar with Deluxe Gigbag
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I began playing bass around two years ago. I've had my Washburn for about a year now, and can't say that I'm anything but happy with it.
While any bassist would dream of owning a $1000 Warwick or Fender, there's a point in such a dream when reality steps in and reminds one of the college loans that you'll have to begin paying off in the next few years.
I started playing bass with a sad little Rogue starter kit, figuring out the basics with a little bit of advanced technique. But the Rogue, which had extremely high action, poor materials used in construction, and shoddy electronics, can only do so much for the beginner. After a few months of persistent playing, I came to the conclusion that I needed a better bass. I started scouring the internet and local guitar shops for a reasonably priced bass that would allow me a little more freedom in my playing. I accidentally stumbled on the Washburn and fell in love almost instantly.
The beautiful wooden body is eye candy for anyone that wanders into my room and sees the bass sitting on its stand. It has a wonderful, smooth sound that can easily be tampered with to match all of my favorite artists. The Washburn isn't exactly a slap bass, but given some small adjustments it'll do. The thin neck is great for fast basslines, and the solid weight lets you know that you've got something serious hanging around your neck, not some cute toy. The neck-through design creates a noticeably longer sustain than other basses (some friends brought their basses over and we noticed a difference right away).
I'd say for anyone teaching themselves how to play, or looking for a comparatively low priced but quality bass, the Washburn is an excellent bass.

Hagstrom Tremar Viking Deluxe Electric Guitar (Black Gloss) Review

Hagstrom Tremar Viking Deluxe Electric Guitar (Black Gloss)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I play professionally and of the 30 guitars I own- five are Hagstroms. The day hat my Viking Tremar arrived I tuned up and played it in my living room for about 30mins, adjusted the string height then went out to play a gig. Typically that is a VERY foolish move but I was so impressed with the guitar that I felt confident that it would be good to me on stage and I was right. Literally right out of the box the guitar was ready to go. Of course there was the need to re-tune often since the strings were still new and not fully stretched but even that was minimal. The Viking has a nice round tone and felt like really good in my hands. The tone is similar to a 335 as one would expect but it has something extra to it... more bite is the only way I can describe it. It sings when you need it to sing, it screams and growls when you need to kick ass. I no longer take two guitars on gigs (also an unwise move) but this guitar gives me everything I need. So, in my opinion, the only wise option is to buy a second one. It's been roughly six months and I'm still playing it with the strings that came on it - something else I never do. lol

When I first learned of lightwave, I was very intrigued by the technology behind their optical pickup system. I finally ordered a VL-4, and my impressions are as follows:
* The bass arrived set up perfectly, with low action. It was plug and play right out of the box.
* The fit and finish is superb. A nice flame top with transparent red paint, and a matching headstock. The bass is very light in weight, right at 7lbs.
* The bass sounds great, with an amazing amount of tonal options. The location and arrangement of the knobs are intuitive, and the bass functions perfectly. The bass plays like a dream and there are no dead spots whatsoever on the neck.
* I had a minor issue with the bass, and Lightwave customer service was superb. Their response time was very fast, and they resolved the problem quickly.

Taylor Guitars GC5-E Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar Review

Taylor Guitars GC5-E Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Simply put, one of Taylor's best higher quality products for the finger picking style of play. The cedar top gives it a mellow tone. The short-scale and smaller body makes it perfect for the smaller bodied man or woman. The sound is loud and bass is plentiful considering its size. I have the Expression system electrics but seldom use this guitar with an amp. The slotted headstock looks great and works without issue. I've bought, sold and traded a lot of Taylors and this one is a keeper.

Our take on the small-body acoustic is the new GC Series: intimate and curvey yet with volume that belies its size. The slotted peghead (on glossy models) and short-scale neck deliver a more 'woody" tone and an unbelievably easy feel on the fretboard.

Epiphone Goth ThunderBird-IV Bass, Plain Black Review

Epiphone Goth ThunderBird-IV Bass, Plain Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I own this T Bird and the Vintage Sunburst. Both of these Basses are my favorite. It has the Action and rumble of a Rickenbacker 4001 and the flexibilty and Tone of a Fender Jazz Bass. Great for a Musician starting out who cant quite afford a Gibson. For the price, you can own the Gibson Quality, even though its is an Epiphone. My only Complaint is that it is not available as a 5 string, but can be tuned as low as CFBE(top to bottom) with out distortion or clipping.

The Epiphone Goth Thunderbird VI bass is the best selling bass in its price class. Period. Its secret to success is the clean, Pitch Black finish, on the Mahogany/Basswood body with responsive Maple neck featuring a Rosewood fingerboard complete with Roman numeral"XII" inlaid in 12th fret posistion. Its famous thunder comes from the acclaimed Epiphone high-output TB-Plus bass humbucker pickupsand bears the "Celtic cross" markon the pickguard.
