Just a really, really nice guitar for the money. It soon became my main guitar, played a lot more than my telly, jaguar, or any other.
set up perfect right out of the box
Clear as a bell but distorts nicely too, very playable, looks great, workmanship is near flawless

The SE Custom Semi-Hollow has the same basic appointments as the SE Custom--mahogany back, maple top, 22-fret wide-fat mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and SE humbucking pickups. The addition of a hollow chamber and modern f-hole give it a musical midrange and internal reverb making this a very light, comfortable and versatile guitar.

The SE Custom Semi-Hollow
The First SE Semi-Hollow The SE Custom Semi-Hollow is PRS' very first semi-hollow SE model guitar. All of the same features of the SE Custom are now available in a light-weight semi-hollow package featuring a unique pallet of colors.
HFS Pickups Originally meaning Hot, Fat and Screams, the HFS features a powerful ceramic magnet and hot coils for an aggressive tone when cranked, clear highs, searing midrange and thumping bass.
The SE Custom semi-hollow produces a wide range of tonal possibilities enhanced by a variety of switching options including master volume, master tone, and 3-way toggle pickup selector.
Wide Fat Neck The Wide Fat neck has the same nut width as the Wide Thin neck but has a big comfortable profile, similar to PRS's Regular neck. Because of its strength and longer "heel," the Wide Fat neck produces warm tones with lots of sustain.
PRS Stoptail Bridge Designed to take full advantage of the resonant properties of their guitars, PRS's Stoptail Bridge provides direct transmission of string vibration to the guitar body and makes set-up a breeze. First used in 1991 on the PRS Dragon I guitar, it now appears on almost half of all PRS guitars sold. This bridge features slots that recess the strings comfortably as they pass over the top, in a gentle curve. Although it is pre-compensated for modern string gauges, fine-tuning is possible by adjusting the set screws at each end of the bridge.
SE Custom Semi-Hollow Available Colors The SE Custom Semi-Hollow is available in Black, Natural, and Tobacco Sunburst finishes
Finish PRS finishes their instruments with a polyester basecoat and acrylic urethane topcoat. Acrylic urethane looks and feels the closest to the old nitro-cellulose finishes but without the finish checking.
The PRS Mission Statement Guitar building is an ongoing process of discovery. We are devoted to the guitar's rich heritage while committed to new technologies that will enrich our products with uncompromised tone, playability and beauty. Our success depends on our ability to listen, implement positive change and continually refine our craft.
Believing this, we strive to build the best guitars and guitar products possible and to serve our employees, customers, suppliers and community with distinction.

Fender Highway One Telecaster® Guitar - Maple Fretboard, Black Review

Fender Highway One Telecaster® Guitar - Maple Fretboard, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love this guitar.
It is a made in the U.S. guitar heavily discounted likely on account of the finish. The body has a satin finish rather than lacquer. This has no influence on tone which is vintage classic Tele. Consider that Fender is now selling fake worn guitars. These sound great but look ugly.
The pickups are vastly superior to those on the Mexican made Standard Telecaster. They are still passive single coil pickups which require amplifiers to be boosted for gain and volume. Unlike real vintage Telecasters, there is no hum coming from the pickups.
The tone and volume controls work perfectly as does the pickup selector. The maple neck is a delight to play on and it contributes to the "snap" associated with the Telecaster guitar.
This Tele is balanced perfectly for sitting or standing positions. I never tire of playing this instrument.

Well seldom you meet an object that has an identity comparable to only a few human. Strat is a different kind of instrument; while it's a perfect musical instrument so versatile that bears with you as your taste of music roams unconsciously it still keeps its feet firm on the ground. Its the rare combination of high quality, good value, and versatility.
It's one of those things that you would love to handover to your son and watch him enjoy the matured sound that comes with years of usage..

The Fender American Stratocaster Electric Guitar is a Fender icon. Juicy upgrades include a richer, deeper neck tint for a more elegant and expensive appearance; glossed neck front for improved looks with satin back for smooth playability; and bent steel Fender saddles with classic look and great tone. String spacing is narrowed for modern playability, saddle height screws are resized to reduce rough feel, and string slot on saddle is elongated to reduce string friction or breakage. The Copper Infused Cast Strat® Bridge Block (steel with copper—100% metal) provides increased mass and improved tone. This Strat features the original headstock shape but has staggered machine heads losing one string tree and improving string angle over the nut. Custom staggered pickup magnets improve string-to-string balance and give the G-string better tone. Cosmetics include parchment/black/parchment pickguard and parchment pickup covers, knobs, and tips. The return of the American Standard Series Strat continues Fender's tradition of commitment to the people who play Fender instruments out there in the real world. Today's American Standard Stratocaster guitars are worthy heirs of their revered ancestors—mindful of player needs and taking full advantage of modern advances, yet remaining completely true to the elements and spirit that made these instruments popular in the first place. Improvements include redesigned bridges, neck and body finishes, and a Fender-exclusive high-tech molded case. Still on board for the American Standard Strat are the beloved hand-rolled fingerboard edges, Alnico V pickups, the Delta system that includes a high-output bridge pickup and a special no-load tone control, providing more gain, more high end, and a little more "raw" tone, and staggered tuning machines for tone and stability guaranteed to last a lifetime (with its limited lifetime warranty)! Godin 5th Avenue Archtop Acoustic Guitar - Natural Review

Godin 5th Avenue Archtop Acoustic Guitar - Natural
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a great fan of archtop guitars- I own three- and I have long been a fan of Godin guitars, who produce instruments of exceptional quality and value. When I saw that my local music store had the new Godin archtop in stock, I immediately started doing a mental inventory of my collection, figuring out what I could sell to buy this instrument. But playing it changed my mind. It's not at all of what I think of as an archtop guitar- though it may be just what you're looking for.
A little background. Flat top guitars have a resonating surface made form a thin layer of cedar or spruce or some other light wood. They're designed to vibrate as easily as possible. Traditional archtops, on the other hand, have a top carved from a much denser wood- traditionally maple. Whereas the classic flat top guitar sound is big and boomy, and designed to produce a big sound that ranges from bass to high treble, the traditional archtop sound is more percussive, and more midrangey. It's designed to punch through an orchestra in its rhythm role.
This guitar may look like an archtop, but it sounds very much like a flat top guitar, but I think that was intentional. Archtop guitars are becoming more and more popular with the rock and alternative crowd- something that I think goes back to Elvis Costello's "Monkey to Man" video. If the typical modern player picked up a traditional archtop he or she would probably find it unplayable- .013 gauge strings and a high action are a far cry form the low action and skinny strings most players favor.
So Godin has produced something with a very traditional look- think Mother Maybelle Carter for the black version illustrated- with the light action and even sound of a flat top- ad they're done a very good job of it. The instrument I tried had the quality you'd expect of a Godin, along with a good balanced tone and a very easy playing neck. If you're looking for something a bit out of the ordinary for that band you're fronting, you might give this one a try.

The Godin 5th Avenue brings you back to a time when the archtop acoustic guitar reigned supreme. With the soul of a 1950's archtop, the 5th Avenue is a true vintage spirit of yesterday with today's level of modern playability. With more projection & volume in the low/mids than traditional archtop acoustic guitars, the dynamically rich tone of the 5th Avenue makes this sophisticated instrument a dream to play, but not a nightmare to pay for. The Godin 5th Avenue now makes the affordable North American archtop guitar a reality! From Alt-Country, Delta Blues, Slide, Jazz to Rock, the 5th Avenue can really deliver. Made from Canadian Wild Cherry, the body of the 5th Avenue features a molded arched top and back, as well as an adjustable bridge, classic f-holes, contoured high-gloss headstock, floating pickguard and cream binding. Also, the rustic beauty of its Custom Polished Finish creates a gorgeous satin sheen reminiscent of the French polish of the 19th century. The Godin 5th Avenue, the archtop acoustic of the past, for today's modern musician.

Fender Blacktop Stratocaster HH with Rosewood Fretboard Electric Guitar, Candy Apple Red Rosewood

I bought a candy apple red one for Christmas. It looked beautiful. I played it twice and it stopped producing sound. It was like I pressed an off button. My brother's been playing his strat for 20 years and mine lasted two days. Fortunately I was able to return it, but c'mon, two days? My first Fender, a Starcaster, I got two years ago still plays fine. I've ordered a new one because it looks great, it sounds great the two times I played it, and it's very affordable. I'm hoping for better luck with the next one.

Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar, Brown Sunburst Maple Fretboard Review

Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar, Brown Sunburst Maple Fretboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The telecaster was one of the first mass produced electric guitars ever and every one that came after has been trying to build on perfection. This guitar is one of the most versatile I have ever played. You can produce twangy country tones, blues tones, and distorted hard rock tones, just by changing pickups and amp settings. The action seems slightly higher than on my Strat, and is a little harder to play, but that actually works well for me, because I like to wrestle with the strings a little, but that might not be for everyone. For the money, you will not find a better guitar anywhere.

The Fender Standard Telecaster features the best of the old and the new: a fast-action neck, 2 biting, sparkly single-coil pickups, and a 6-saddle string-thru-body bridge. Since its introduction in 1952, guitarists quickly gravitated towards the Telecaster's edgy, articulate tone and smooth playability and over the years it has found its way into the hands of players in almost every genre. The Fender Telecaster is about as classic as they come. Make Fender Model Telecaster Color Sunburst Fretboard Maple Pick-ups Single coils Body Wood Alder Modifications None Case: Soft shell case

Schecter Royal Acoustic Guitar (Sunburst) Review

Schecter Royal Acoustic Guitar (Sunburst)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this guitar because I really like Schecter Guitars. I own a C1 Exotic and a Robin Fink Ultra already. I would put either one up against an American Strat or an American Les Paul any day of the week, hands down. It was this experience that swayed me to buy a Royal, but these acoustic guitars are absolute garbage.
The first one I received has a crack leading from the sound hole towards the neck of the guitar. The replacement that was sent to me had a bad case of neck warp that a luthier said made it impossible to overcome the horrible string buzz from frets 10 - 15. Being that Amazon sent me the only Royals they had in stock at that point made me decide to return the second one and not give it a third try though Amazon customer service was very responsive and helpful.
This guitar, and I imagine the Orleans model as well, are made in China as opposed to Korea like their electric guitars. I believe that this is the reason for the craftmanship that I can only compare to a piece of junk that you would buy at a department store for $50. The only good thing about it is the Fishman pick up that sounded great.
Don't buy this.

Schecter ZULU Electric Guitar Review

Schecter ZULU Electric Guitar

I bought this guitar recently, and I am highly impressed with it. Let me start by saying I am an active musician who has been playing for 22 years. I normally play metal in a band that plays at least 4 times a week, but I also enjoy a few other styles of music. Now, when I received this guitar, first thing is I was struck by the beauty of the design on this guitar. The artwork is great, but the playability is even better. I gave this guitar a music workover playing styles such as black/death metal, blues, rockabilly, surf rock, and even some classical style pieces, and it played excellent through every genre I threw at it. Excellent for lead or rythm. It hasnt slipped tune on me, no buzz in the frets, electronics all work great. This guitar is well worth the money. I highly recommend it to anyone.Schecter ZULU Electric Guitar

Epiphone Special-II Les PaulPlayer Pack, Ebony Review

Epiphone Special-II Les PaulPlayer Pack, Ebony
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received my player pack about a week ago. Everything was included in the pack and "seemed" great. I got the Sunburst pattern and the guitar looks really nice. The amp and the rest of the gear was all good for the price. The problem was that when I tuned the guitar I had to raise the bridge way too much to get rid of some buzzing from the fret bars. Even after that I still got the buzzing when I played vigorously. Also I could feel the edges of the fret bars on the neck which I think means that the wood of the neck had shrunk and probably warped a little (sitting in a warehouse too long maybe). I chose to repair these issues instead of returning the guitar. I like it very much and I doubt that getting another pack at the same price point would get me any more quality. If my experience was not the norm then I would give this pack a 4 or 5.
**UPDATE
The warped neck was unrepairable by the epiphone dealer in my area. They sent it back (warranty) and I got a NEW Epiphone "Dot Studio" as a replacement because it would have been 90 day till they could replace it with a similar model. I really like the "Dot Studio" and it is a nice upgrade. So I got a really nice deal in the end

Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar, Candy Apple Red Maple Fingerboard
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I did what would make most musicians cringe... I bought a new guitar online, sight unseen, no testing, no trying. The only reason I did was because of Fender's reputation, not only for the main Fender brand, but also their careful attention to the Stratocaster brand. I was not disappointed! The guitar is beautiful! The red and white body looks stunning with the maple neck. The paint job and finish are flawless and arrived well protected with peel-off plastic pieces and a micro-foam covering. Everyone who picks it up loves it, not only for the look but also the feel and the sound. The action is good (not too high, not too low) and when paired with my Fender Mustang amp, this guitar sounds like a gem. The HSS configuration is perfect... I can't think of a reason why someone would go with fewer pickups. You can always turn off some of the pickups for different sounds, but if you don't have them in the first place then you don't have the option to get the full range of sound that they provide. Definitely get the HSS, you won't regret it! This has been a wonderful addition to the home for family and friends and is everything that the Stratocaster name is supposed to represent... beauty, quality, tradition, and terrific sound.
