Takamine G360S Dreadnought Sold Top Acoustic Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I am not an expert, this review is based on my observations and comparisons with other guitars that I tried out in the store. This is a dreadnought guitar, might be too big for those of smaller stature. It has a solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides, which probably accounts for the great sound and resonance. It has a glossy finish with abalone inlays and rosette, really looks nice ! I tried the Ibanez AC30NT and the Yamaha FG720S. The Yamaha didn't sound as resonant as the Ibanez or the G360S. The only downside is it's pricey compared to the AC30NT (hence, the 4 stars).
It is my opinion that guitars are very personal. You need to sit down and play a few chords on it and play the same chords on the other guitars to arrive at a fair comparison. Note both left and right hand positioning and see which is most comfortable to you. If you decide on 1 model, see if you can try out other guitars of the same model. You might be surprised they may sound different, too !

(More customer reviews)Now, I wouldn't exactly say that the F-50 plays itself, but it's about the closest to it that I've ever seen.
From the very thin, fast neck to the solid tuners, to the 24 extra jumbo frets to the great sounding humbuckers... I can't think of a single thing that I dislike about this beasty. The short fret spacing makes notes and chords easier to reach, especially if you don't have freakishly long fingers.
It even looks terrific (especially if you're into metal). The goth-ish body styling probably wouldn't work for you if you're looking to play country, but if you're a rocker... this guitar's shape sets it apart from the million other strats around, and in black, it looks exceptionally evil.

You can usually find this product cheaper than the listed [...] price if you look around online. That being said, this kit is great for the price. Sure the guitar isn't the greatest, but the amp alone usually retails for nearly the price you can find this whole kit online. I already owned a guitar and just wanted a real tube amp, so I bought this package since I was essentially getting the guitar and accessories as a freebie. If you go into it with that thinking, you'll be very happy with your purchase. I wouldn't recommend the guitar as a primary instrument, however, unless you are just starting out on guitar. It's a fine beginner type guitar.

Art & Lutherie Ami Nylon String Cedar Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)To the eye: It's a great looking guitar for sure, with REAL rosette inlays on a gorgeous cedar top. It would look great hung up on a wall, or sitting in a corner - good since you will not want to put it away, ever.
To the ear: Intonation is dead on, and the tone on this is absolutely even up and down the entire fretboard, with excellent clarity and separation of the individual notes. The parlor size doesn't provide much bass, but it's not tinny at all, and it is much louder than you'd expect. It is not a baby or travel guitar sound, but definitely a real parlor sound with good projection and that tight clarity you would expect.
To the hands: the modern neck has a sort of hybrid feel - with the seeming acres of classical fretboard, but a thinner depth than most old classicals (it has an adjustable truss rod). I generally play steel strings (30 years), but I just can't put this little nylon beauty down (the somewhat thinner neck might be part of it), and it's increased my playing by hours and hours a week. It's a great player for just... playing. In a word: Comfortable.
To the wallet: Handmade in Canada by the same people who make the Seagulls I believe. At $300, I think it's just a ridiculous deal, and a value that can't help but appreciate over time. Buy it, play it for 10 years, sell it for a profit.
To the Devil's Advocate: It does have gold/pearloid tuners. I hate gold hardware and I hate pearloid, so they'll be leaving us soon.... YMMV

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a good guitar in this price range and had narrowed it down between the Ibanez AEL10EBK and the Dean Performer E Acoustic Electric Guitar. They seemed pretty equivalent from their description. Originally I had decided on the Ibanez because it had an established name (I never heard of Dean) and the pickup it used was an established brand ( a Fishman Sonicore). By contrast the Dean had it's own pickup which I knew nothing about. I was about to buy the Ibanez but I wanted to hear it first. I went to a local music store and took it down to try out. To my surprise it sounded very shallow, wooden, and muddy. There was very little resonance to the instrument. It sounded almost like a solid body guitar. When you strum all the strings at the same time it sounds muddled. I plugged in the Ibanez and found it sounded the same way. It was muddled. You didn't hear the individual strings. Just an overall "blahhh". As it happens, another music store down the street had the Dean Performer E so just for kicks I went there to try it out. I was shocked by how beautiful it sounded for such an inexpensive guitar. The instrument resonated. You could hear each string brightly and clearly. When plugged into an amp the sound was bright, and full. I also found that the Dean had an "on-board" tuner with a graphic LED output that allowed you to tune the guitar instantly. This tuner is actually one of the best I have ever used. It tells you exactly when the string is in tune. It doesn't bounce around all over the place like other tuners I've used. I found from this experience that "name" isn't everything. Sometimes products from an established and well known company can under-perform newcommers. In this case that is exactly what I found. Needless to say I bought the Dean and have been very happy with it since.

Luna Henna Paisley Series TLE Electric Guitar - White Review

(More customer reviews)This guitar in white comes with a rosewood slab unlike the picture depictin a maple fretboar. The black one comes with the maple board. The guitar came in a standar guitar box in a box setup. It was fairly loose in shipping and the volume control was a little bit jammed to the pick gaurd, but I was able to pull it straight.
The guitar is a beut with the white matchin headstock and the cedar wood pickguard.
Setup on this guitar was great out of the box but with a little neck and bridge tweek it ended up being a top notch playing instrument. The pickups are as good as any I have played with the tele configuration. The fret job is perfect and the rosewood fretboard is clean and slick. It is a fast neck and captures the tele vibe .

I ordered this one and I was really excited to get it but, the Push/Pull Coil Tap was broken so I requested for a replacement. The replacement arrived in 4 days. The replacement guitar's neck was bent more than usual. They had set the bridge too high so that the strings do not touch the frets. Overall I found it difficult to play with high strings. Although Omen 7 Extreme is a great sounding guitar, I a not happy with my replacement.
