(More customer reviews)The guitar itself is great as far as fit and finish, but the Aura system is too limited. It has such a boomy sound and srummed chords are over saturated. There is no clear distinction of strings, so the sound is too washed out. Teh Aura has no tone controls and you don't have a bypass option to just use the Matrix pickup alone. I returned it.

Takamine ETN10C Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar With Case, Satin T Sunburst Review

(More customer reviews)I was wanting to purchase a higher end guitar and after trying out several and listening to several on YouTube I decided to purchase this Takamine. I already own a Tak 12 string and thought the sound was incredible for the price. This one I didn't actually play until after it arrived but I watched Brad Davis try it out on YouTube as my guide. I have owned Ovation, Alvarez and Ibanez in the past and am more satisfied with Takamine. The guitar was set up perfect right out of the case. No blemishes or scratches anywhere and perfect action, very low set and a fast neck. The sound is incredible off amp as well as on. It has a very strong low end and mixes perfect with the the mids and highs. Great for strumming and picking. I couldn't believe how awesome this guitar sounds everytime I pick it up. I still play mostly without the amp and like classic rock, christian contemporary and ballads that use a classical style of play. This holds up with the best of them. It is a bit plain in appearance which is why I chose the Tobacco Burst; mine is a bit darker than the pic. The pic appears sort of orangey and mine is a bit more of a darker Tobacco Burst which I like. No pick guard and a satin finish not a gloss so the wood sounds are not impaired and will improve as the wood ages. These natural woods sound great. It has a solid cedar top and solid sapelli/mahogany back. I have alway had spruce or maple tops before and must admit the cedar sound is more to my preference for the lows. I paid $929 including the case through Amazon which is a deal since most everywhere else was $100 to $150 more. I got a better sounding guitar than Taylor or Martin puts out unless I wanted to go $1000 more and most all of their guitars in this price range were all laminates or occassionally a solid top but that was it. Very pleased with this purchase and is the best sounding acoustic I have owned yet....beats my former Ovation Legend and I loved that guitar.

Epiphone EJ-200 Super Jumbo Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Sunburst Review

(More customer reviews)I hadn't picked up a guitar for 15 years when I decided I wanted to play again. I looked at an Epiphone Hummingbird, but after strumming chords on both, I went with the EJ-200 because of the bigger sound. It's not a particularly nuanced sound, but it booms. I'm never going to be a virtuoso; I'm going to hit chords hard while playing/hanging with friends. The D string on mine buzzes a bit, but that's not a difficult fix. The action is mostly good; it wasn't hard for me to get started playing. The super jumbo body style is more comfortable for me to play, especially while seated, as my arm rests perfectly on the body. If you're a serious player with resources, look at a Gibson SJ-200; otherwise, this is a terrific instrument.

She is just learning to play but I wanted her to have a really nice guitar to start with and that would last her a while and after researching this one I decided that it was the one! The price is very affordable and being so much below retail price it is SO worth it! I have had several friends and family members that play and they have played it and have loved how it sounds and the quality of the guitar! (More customer reviews)I bought this Oscar Schmidt requinto about 3 months ago and I am very happy that I did. I tune the 6 th string to G and have found that satisfactory for the music I like. The high, almost mandolin sound I get from it compares to what a baby grand piano sound like next to a full sized one. The bridge on the body is very well reenforced and is shaped in a moustache configuration giving it a well made, appealing look. I very happy and satisfied with my purchase.

Fender CJ-290 SCE Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Natural Review

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased the Fender® CD290SCE - Natural 6-string Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic/Electric Guitar. I received it on 19th March 2010.
I am a Jazz Guitarist and prefer to do my performances on an acoustic/electric guitar. The reason is that I prefer the natural wood sound of a guitar as opposed to an electric sound.
I have owned many expensive brand names in the Jumbo Electric/Acoustic arena. While most of them were excellent in terms of craftsmanship, I was never completely satisfied with such attributes as playability and low action. I always seem to have issues with sharp fret wires, or high fingerboard action particularly from the 5th fret upwards. More often than not I either was forced to grind down the bone saddle, do trust rod adjustments or experiment with different string gauges and sometimes have to tolerate fret buzzes. The prices of these guitars made in China ranged from US$1,000.00 to US$ 2,500.00.
I have always had great respect for Fender Company particularly with their electric guitars. However I was not very familiar with the quality of their acoustics. I decided to take a chance and buy the Fender® CD290SCE - Natural 6-string Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic/Electric Guitar purely on the good reputation Fender Company as a long standing guitar manufacturer.
It is my personal humble opinion that many high priced brand names in jumbo acoustics pale in comparison to this Fender Jumbo.
The fingerboard action and playability out of the box are second to none. The clarity and projection unplugged is superb. I have not yet played it through an amplifier. But given how it sounds unamplified is an indication how well it will sound plugged in. Although this is jumbo, the guitar is very light weight and very comfortable to hold especially for long periods. I have found no factory defects in the craftsmanship. I never thought that a solid spruce top sitting on top of a maple body could generate such robust basses , mid's and hi's
I think that this great guitar ought to be sold with a hard shell case. Mine came in a cardboard box. I have to now source a hard shell case which this fine instrument deserves.
I presently own several expensive acoustics, but I have placed this Fender® CD290SCE at the head of the class. The voices that come out of this fender jumbo acoustic are simply angelic so I have named the guitar "The Angel". My fellow guitarists' minds are totally blown away with the projection and tonal quality of this affordably priced guitar.
I highly recommend it to any professional guitarist.
Folks at Fender, I congratulate you for such a fine craftsmanship in this CD290SCE jumbo acoustic/electric.

Dean Tribal Performer Guitar with Tribal Inlay on Neck Review

Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat Acoustic Guitar, Natural Review

(More customer reviews)This is a smaller body guitar, more like a classical - not a dreadnought.
It's smaller size makes it comfortable to play. The neck is not to fat or to thin.
The action is on the high side and could use some lowering but it's not bad.
What this guitar does is sound good. very balanced tone. Bass lines stand out well
and have volume and distinction. High notes are on the warm side. Chords sound out
well, rich and not muddy. Picking solo notes ring out with a chime and with volume.
The guitar respondes well when played soft and easy with a warm mellow tone and
when you dig in hard and get agresive it rings out loud and clear.
It's NOT a dead flat sounding dull guitar and fact it's quite rich it tone and ambiance.
I was uprised to see that it was all mahogany as it sounded brighter than most mahaogany
guitars and seems to lean more towards the brighter maple guitars
