(More customer reviews)As far as I'm concerned, this is exactly what acoustic guitars should sound like. You might find more silky or strident highs elsewhere, or more punchy lows from an old martin, and there are plenty of other guitars that excel at one particular element of timbre and tone (though you'd likely pay much more for them), but the advanced jumbo is the complete package! Balanced, delicate, powerful, and resonant, with enveloping depth and richness. Everything comes through clearly, no dominant strings or chords. The tones are nicely complex without getting confused or muddled. The neck is on the thin side which some people may dislike, but it's not anemic. Binding over the fret ends was sloppily finished between the heel and soundhole, and the plastic bridge pins and strap peg seem a little cheaply made, but both are easily remedied. Looking at it, it's about like you'd expect a $2000 acoustic to be. Close your eyes and play, and those little things are quickly forgotten. Beautiful. You can't come close to this kind of sound without paying a heck of a lot more.

(More customer reviews)Very pleased. I had an entry level Yamaha Classical with cedar top in the past which I felt was good quality, and I'm satisfied with this upgrade as well. I wanted to try a spruce top this time for a different tone. It has a nice tone and is a nice looking guitar in my opinion. When you get into $1000's for concert quality instruments, I'm sure you will find instruments with better projection, etc.; but for the money this is what I was expecting and hoping for: a solid classical guitar with spruce top and nice tone, which I can enjoy for practice and playing in front of small groups. I'm also satisfied with the extent to which the instrument stays in tune. I would eventually like to try other features on a classical guitar--jumbo frets and/or scalloped fretboard (which are not standard features for classical guitars), as well as a seventh string for extension of the bass range. But for now, I believe the CG182S is a quality instrument in this price range, and it suits my purposes well.

(More customer reviews)This is a very attractive guitar and appealed to me because of the price point and the positive reviews I had seen of this instrument. However it was not a good fit for me and was returned.
I had 2 issues.
1. Frets are pretty small and I was struggling to form chords that I can play with ease on my Fender Stratocaster.
2. There is a lack of bass when playing this guitar acoustically, probably due to it's slimmer body.
Overall I would not recommend buying any guitar unless you try it out first in store. I made that mistake with this guitar. Go to your local store, check out the different guitars you are interested in. Once you have a couple shortlisted go online and see if you can get a better price.

The high, almost mandolin sound I get from it compares to what a baby grand piano sound like next to a full sized one. The bridge on the body is very well reenforced and is shaped in a moustache configuration giving it a well made, appealing look. I very happy and satisfied with my purchase.

(More customer reviews)First off, this guitar is amazing. Now, my frame of reference. I am a professional church worship leader, and have been playing guitar for over 30 years. I use the Fishman rare earth soundhole mic/pickup combo. I have been using Taylor guitars exclusively for 20 years; in fact I have owned six different Taylors, and have been using a 20 year old 510 for some time. For about five years I have been searching for a guitar to replace the 510 which I want to retire as a collectible. I have tried dozens of guitars, from Martins, to other Taylors, to whatever brand you can name. After playing some low and medium end Taylors (with plywood sides or sides and back), all of which sounded boxy, I saw the "all solid wood" sticker on this epiphone and gave it a try. I was stunned...I had never before picked up a guitar and had it sound like my 510..a little better in fact. I noted the model number and did some research. Loads of positive reviews online and on youtube. I ordered one, and it arrived perfectly set up, with beautiful mahogany wood grain and a nicely grained and silked solid spruce top. The tone was exactly what I heard from the in store guitar I tried, and I am in love with this guitar. Immediately installed the Fishman system from my Taylor onto the Epiphone, and it was just stunning...pure acoustic sweetness. The best word I can use to describe the sound, is it has that nice "warm rumble" you expect from a hand made, solid mahogany guitar; but you can also get a bright sound if you wish. No boxy, hollow sound like the low end ($800-1200) Taylors and Martins. So, bottom line..why pay top dollar for the part-plywood scraps from Taylor and Martin when you can get a completely solid tonewood instrument for one third the cost? These Masterbilt guitars are a steal. I plan on buying a few more, as I can get 4 of them for what I'd have paid for one Taylor or Martin to get an all solid wood model. These guitars will sound better with age. Do not hesitate to buy one of these if you want a truly professional quality instrument. Also, great neck and smooth Grover tuners.

(More customer reviews)I was suprise that out of the box it was pretty close to being right in tune. The on board tuner,3 directional is easy to use. I have not plugged it into a amp yet. The sound without an amp. is very clear and tone carries well and loud enough for me. This is my 1st cutaway and it is the good easy way to get down on the highs without hand stretch as much. I looked this over and the workmanship is good but not excellent. The paint and trim is smooth as it blends together in the edges really fine. The mother of pearl guard adds coolness to the black color. One thing of warning! Like laquer paint does, one bump and it's hairline crack and dent you get. Be very carefull in this aspect and use a hard case. The neck is a bit rough on the edges and fret bars kind of high I think. The strings are good and the adjusters and head are the key! They bring back the "Strat'O'caster" head that screams "Fender" on this model once again. And it makes it nice having adjusters all in a row. For the price and it's looks, this novice player is very happy.

Seagull Coastline S6 Burst GT Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I got this guitar as my beginner instrument to start getting into acoustic guitars and I think it turned out to be a really great choice. I was going to get a Seagull Original S6, but then I found one of these for basically the same price.
Just to get it out of the way, wow this guitar looks fantastic! But how does it sound you say? Well, since I'm just starting out, I don't have a developed ear, but from what I can tell it's very warm, bright and layered. I noticed it sounds a tad muffled when I finger pick, but that just may be how it usually is since I'm new to guitar. Also, the guitar had a few oddities sound-wise when I first started playing, but now those have gone away. It was probably just the change in temperature and humidity since it was cold outside when they delivered it.
The action seems really perfect; the strings are low enough to the frets to play, but they don't buzz. The solid top gives the guitar a fantastic ring and I was surprised how long I could hear a note after strumming. It's got a glossy finish which looks pretty, but is prone to getting fingerprints if you care about that kind of thing. I've read that this kind of finish will show scratch marks more easily than a semi-gloss or flat finish so be aware.
Anyway, I'm 100% satisfied with this guitar and would definitely recommend this to others looking for a good band-for-the-buck guitar.

(More customer reviews)This is a smaller body guitar, more like a classical - not a dreadnought.
It's smaller size makes it comfortable to play. The neck is not to fat or to thin.
The action is on the high side and could use some lowering but it's not bad.
What this guitar does is sound good. very balanced tone. Bass lines stand out well
and have volume and distinction. High notes are on the warm side. Chords sound out
well, rich and not muddy. Picking solo notes ring out with a chime and with volume.
The guitar respondes well when played soft and easy with a warm mellow tone and
when you dig in hard and get agresive it rings out loud and clear.
It's NOT a dead flat sounding dull guitar and fact it's quite rich it tone and ambiance.
I was uprised to see that it was all mahogany as it sounded brighter than most mahaogany
guitars and seems to lean more towards the brighter maple guitars
