(More customer reviews)Our nonprofit, Guitars in the CLassroom, receives donations of guitars for use with the teachers we instruct; among those we receive, Godin provides us with the best guitars from the companies who support us, Kaman, Martin (yes, Martin!), Saga, etc. This B20 just came back from a teacher to whom we had loaned it for her use in the Classroom with her students, as she has now purchased her own - probably not as amazing as this loaner was! When I played it, I was blown away with the power and tone....and the construction detail was superb (and I assume we are getting Blems or 2nds....but I can't tell what the defect might be.) Buy one of these, and revel in what a true large acoustic can do for both group singing and recording. What a sweet guitar! Thanks Godin....

Art & Lutherie Ami Nylon String Cedar Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)To the eye: It's a great looking guitar for sure, with REAL rosette inlays on a gorgeous cedar top. It would look great hung up on a wall, or sitting in a corner - good since you will not want to put it away, ever.
To the ear: Intonation is dead on, and the tone on this is absolutely even up and down the entire fretboard, with excellent clarity and separation of the individual notes. The parlor size doesn't provide much bass, but it's not tinny at all, and it is much louder than you'd expect. It is not a baby or travel guitar sound, but definitely a real parlor sound with good projection and that tight clarity you would expect.
To the hands: the modern neck has a sort of hybrid feel - with the seeming acres of classical fretboard, but a thinner depth than most old classicals (it has an adjustable truss rod). I generally play steel strings (30 years), but I just can't put this little nylon beauty down (the somewhat thinner neck might be part of it), and it's increased my playing by hours and hours a week. It's a great player for just... playing. In a word: Comfortable.
To the wallet: Handmade in Canada by the same people who make the Seagulls I believe. At $300, I think it's just a ridiculous deal, and a value that can't help but appreciate over time. Buy it, play it for 10 years, sell it for a profit.
To the Devil's Advocate: It does have gold/pearloid tuners. I hate gold hardware and I hate pearloid, so they'll be leaving us soon.... YMMV

If you finger pick, there's plenty of room between the sets of strings. It's soundboard puts out plenty of volume. The more I play it the better it is sounding.

The sound is full, rich, and can play very loud or at a slight whisper -- with nothing lost as far as tone. The overtones are gorgeous, and notes will ring for a minute or two if left untouched. This is by far the best classical guitar for the money. You can't go wrong buying this masterpiece of craftsmanship; it's a work of art.

Seagull Maritime SWS Folk HG QI Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this guitar as a practice guitar and one to bring to my weekly lessons. My primary instrument is a custom guitar from one of the top luthiers. I wanted a guitar that I could have easy access to so as to increase my practice time. I purchased this guitar because of its wide neck, small size and the excellent reviews I had read.
I am very pleased with this guitar. It sounds great. I lowered the action by shaving the height of the saddle. It is extremely playable. It is a tremendous value. I bought the version with the built in pickup which works very well.
Although I bought it as a practice guitar it is good enough to be a primary instrument. I also purhased the amazing value Seagull Gig Bag on Amazon which fits the guitar like a glove.
Highly recommended.

Seagull Coastline S6 Burst GT Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I got this guitar as my beginner instrument to start getting into acoustic guitars and I think it turned out to be a really great choice. I was going to get a Seagull Original S6, but then I found one of these for basically the same price.
Just to get it out of the way, wow this guitar looks fantastic! But how does it sound you say? Well, since I'm just starting out, I don't have a developed ear, but from what I can tell it's very warm, bright and layered. I noticed it sounds a tad muffled when I finger pick, but that just may be how it usually is since I'm new to guitar. Also, the guitar had a few oddities sound-wise when I first started playing, but now those have gone away. It was probably just the change in temperature and humidity since it was cold outside when they delivered it.
The action seems really perfect; the strings are low enough to the frets to play, but they don't buzz. The solid top gives the guitar a fantastic ring and I was surprised how long I could hear a note after strumming. It's got a glossy finish which looks pretty, but is prone to getting fingerprints if you care about that kind of thing. I've read that this kind of finish will show scratch marks more easily than a semi-gloss or flat finish so be aware.
Anyway, I'm 100% satisfied with this guitar and would definitely recommend this to others looking for a good band-for-the-buck guitar.
