(More customer reviews)I have owned this guitar for about 3 years and I am more impressed with it now than the first day I brought it home. I have a number of guitars and the only classical guitar I own that I think compares favorably is an Alvarez-Yairi CY 118. While the Yairi is a beautiful instrument in tone and workmanship, the value of it is that of a classical guitar which resonates throughout your body as you play it. On the other hand, the Cordoba 55RCE sounds wonderful but does not have quite the acoustical resonance of the Yairi. But, the Cordoba has an electronic piezo pickup system that makes the guitar come alive when played through a halfway decent amplifier. The Cordoba includes an electronic tuner and 3 band equalizer as well as a presence modifier with its electronic package. On the whole, the Cordoba is a well rounded instrument that you will enjoy playing with or without and amplifier for years.As with any fine classical guitar, I would highly recommend that you play it before you buy it. All fine guitars are a little different. If it is not possible to play before delivery, make sure you can return it within a reasonable amount of time. This should not be a problem for the dealer. If it is, say goodbye and take your business elsewhere. The Cordoba 55RCE is made from some of the finest wood available in a time of scarcity of fine woods. But, even the best of woods do not guarantee long-term structural integrity. This is not a guitar to take to the beach and play along with your friends singing because significant changes in humidity will harm the wood and could cause cracking and/or warping. Since the Cordoba has an excellent warranty, please make sure that you take care of it in the prescribed way (to the extent practical) to preserve the value of the warranty, and more importantly to preserve the sound and beauty of the instrument. Even though it is covered by a warranty, you do not want to be without your guitar for any period of time that it takes to fix it properly. It takes a little extra time to care for your Cordoba, but it is worth it. Buying a Cordoba 55RCE is buying art that is functional as well. If you are lucky enough to acquire one of these fine instruments, I wish you luck and all the happiness that will come from your playing.

(More customer reviews)I bought mine 11 years ago; it sounded great out of the case, but it has aged and mellowed beautifully. The sound is full, rich, and can play very loud or at a slight whisper -- with nothing lost as far as tone. The overtones are gorgeous, and notes will ring for a minute or two if left untouched. This is by far the best classical guitar for the money. You can't go wrong buying this masterpiece of craftsmanship; it's a work of art.

Cordoba Fusion 14 RS Classical Guitar with Polyfoam case Review

(More customer reviews)My experience with purchasing the Cordoba Fusion 14 Maple from Amazon.com was excellent. Aside from some setup needed to smooth over the fretwire ends (not a big deal), for which I've deducted a start, the guitar's fit and finish is superb; particularly, for the price. I purchased mine from Amazon.com in April of '010, and it came with a high-quality hardshell case then, for $859.00. I can't speak to the quality of the Polyfoam case that it now comes with. However, even if the Polyfoam case is inferior to the hardshell case--which may be subjective, given that the Polyfoam case is likely to be much lighter than a hardshell, which can be a big plus for some people--the price of a new hardshell case for this guitar, added to the price of the Cordoba Fusion 14 here, is still an amazing value, and very hard to beat!

Giannini GWNC3 Cadiz Classical Guitar (Acoustic, Nylon) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this guitar in Rio de Janeiro where I was on vacation without one and wanted to buy a Brazilian guitar. The two primary manufacturers are Giannini and de Giorgio. I chose this model for $350 and have been happy and playing several models in the $200-600 range. The sound is great, tuning mechanism is ergonomically friendly, and it's beautiful. The only flaw is that I'm seeing some tiny flaking on the neck, something I can probably fix with some lacquer.

(More customer reviews)This is a really great guitar for the money, and definitely beats out the old Yamaha classical I used to have lying around. The solid woods were the biggest attractions for me in picking one up for myself, since my other old guitar is laminate I think so it sounds kinda stiff. But my C10 has a pretty and open sound and is very easy to play.
I saw the other review on here only giving this guitar "1 star", but it doesn't look like that person even tried out the C10 themselves (like they were sent a different guitar from Amazon?)- so i thought'd I'd put in my 2 cents since I can tell you i'm pretty pleased with mine!

(More customer reviews)I just got this wonderful instrument. A SEVEN STRINGS CLASSICAL GUITAR!!!, with electronic amplifier built-in!. I love it.
The strings are very nice spaced from each other, so that the neck doesn't look wide and still you can play the different strings easily. Also doing 7 string bar chords is not difficult and do not require much strength. I am already playing songs with this
guitar using the seventh string with the deep sound of an A one octave lower than
the 5th string.
This kind of guitar is quite difficult or expensive to get, and here I got it for the price of a common guitar. The sound is very good for me and it came with a very nice gig bag. I thanks Giannini por putting these kind of guitars at the reach of everybody.
I think seven string classical guitars will be common in the near future.

Yamaha CG192C Cedar Top Classical Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)Yamaha builds a guitar that is efficient and easy to play. The construction is simple and clean. Now, that's sufficient for their entry level guitars (I picked up a Yamaha F335 Acoustic Guitar, Natural for less than one Ben Franklin - see my review), however, at 5x that amount, that just doesn't cut it anymore. This guitar has zero character. It hits all the notes without any issues, but the sound it produces can only be described as plain vanilla. For the beginning student that may be OK, but why spend the extra $ for this model when it sounds and plays pretty much the same as its lesser brethren? The better grade of materials used in this do not seem to translate into better sound quality - and isn't that why one would drop the extra $ in the first place?
If you want a classical guitar that hands-down produces a rich, wonderful tone that has character, I'm, afraid you'll have to drop some serious $ on a José Ramírez. At this price point, I'd shop around to try to find something that approaches the Ramírez sound - a tall order, for sure.
P.S. Don't bother with Takamine, either. I played one that was 2x the price of this Yamaha and, while it did have a better feel and produce a slightly better tone, the Japanese guitars just don't capture that wonderful Spanish guitar sound.

Cordoba Fusion Orchestra, CD/IN with Gigbag Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this guitar with a very specific idea of what it would be like as reviewed by Acoustic Guitar Magazine. I already have and play other guitars, all steel string models. I was looking for that sound that only comes from nylon strings, but not so much for classical style, but for the jazz/bosa noval/latin sound. This guitar with it's 1/4 inch narrower neck and full and balance tone turned out to be just the ticket. The built in electronics are not fancy but just right for those occasions when one just needs a little more volume, like jamming with friends. The only bugger is that the battery is deep inside the body making it difficult to access. I have not owned this long enough to comment on battery life, but I expect as with most instruments, that won't be a problem. The service from Amazon was, as I have come to expect, great with one minor glitch. There was no manufacturers handbook/instructions that said where the battery case was. All in all, I am very happy with the overall purchase process and the instrument is exactly what I was looking for. 5 out of 5 for what I was looking for.

Cordoba Fusion 14 Rose Classical Guitar with Polyfoam case Review

(More customer reviews)I was sold on Cordoba's Fusion guitars when I read about it having nylon strings on the body of a steel string guitar. While I love the softer tones of the nylon strings, I couldn't bear to part with the way a steel string guitar feels. I learned on a classical guitar and I have wanted to return to it for a while now so this seemed like it would be my chance.
The specs on this product page are true (I checked) and I believe the size measurements are the same for all the Fusions (expect maybe for the ones with 12 frets instead of 14). I spent a lot of time researching the different models before I chose to go with the "Rose". This is my second guitar and I wanted something distinguishable from my other steel-string. I checked out the photography on the Cordoba website and a couple other online stores, and decided that the "Rose" was the one for me. The pictures on Amazon don't give it any justice. I got it shipped to my house a couple months ago and I am still getting comments on how unique and interesting the all-Indian Rosewood design is.
One last thing to note - I've been told that I'm over critical about a guitar's sound when plugged in, but the electronics that come with this guitar aren't bad and I don't have too many complaints so far. For those of you who are interested in the tech specs, it's a Bband T35 pickup that is included. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to any one.
