Put this in a 60w Fender Pro Tube Super Sonic and it SINGS! I've tried just about every brand of guitar speaker and Jensen is now definitely my favorite.
The Jensen Jet Blackbird sounds like a Celestion Gold but even better (hear me out!)
First off - it's 100 watts so this thing really moves some air.
Second - it's 100% sweet alnico all the way. So smooth, sparkling, chimey, warm, does highs and lows!
This is the ultimate guitar speaker!!!

I started playing bass in about 1979. I've been using one of these Gretsch short-scale basses for the past couple of years. The first word that comes to mind is "playability." I have a 1968 Fender Coronado II that's worth a lot more, but this Gretsch plays far better. It's just a joy to play. If you look at Guitar Center's site, almost every reviewer rates this bass 5 stars. It's surprisingly well-made for being this inexpensive. I'm sure there are better basses out there, but at many times the price of this Gretsch!

Squier by Fender Standard Jazz Bass, Candy Apple Red Review

Squier by Fender Standard Jazz Bass, Candy Apple Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I will be honest, I don't know a whole lot of info about guitars, bass or otherwise, but I did my research, and for a beginning guitar and for the price i was willing to spend this was pretty much the best thing i could do. and i have yet to be disappointed at all. The neck and body are sturdy and produce a decent sound, and was delivered without any scratches or nicks unlike previous guitars i had experience with. The electric components don't feel as sturdy as you would find on a more high quality guitar, but once again, considering the price, and the fact that you are buying a beginners bass; this is to be expected, and once again, for the price that is offered it is exceptionally high quality. The candy red was a little lighter than i had seen online, but i actually was pleasantly surprised by that as well.
All together, this is a perfect beginner bass, Would I recommend this bass for a pro? Not really, but i doubt a pro would really be looking to hard at this guitar.

Yamaha APX900 - Natural Acoustic Electric Cutaway Guitar Review

Yamaha APX900 - Natural Acoustic Electric Cutaway Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

Why this is a good guitar
Thinline acoustic-electrics are not known for their acoustic tone, but the APX900's tone is acceptable for at-home strumming and practice and even light sing-along duty. It sounds a little dull acoustically and it's not particularly loud, but that's an acceptable compromise to limit feedback when plugged in. The amplified tone is bright--or it can be whatever you want it to be, from dark and thumpy to incisive, from a laid-back tone to jangly with the mids cut and the bass and treble turned up. Like any acoustic-electric, it feeds back if you get in front of the amplifier or your PA speaker, but a provided heavy rubber soundhole plug reduces feedback.
It's hard to find a mid-priced acoustic-electric thinline guitar that doesn't sound thin or brassy, but Yamaha's unique multiple contact pickups sound better than the typical under-saddle piezo pickups found on most competing guitars. The APX900 is especially nice because it has two additional pickups, one on the bass side, one on the treble, each with a level control on the preamp. So you can customize the bass and treble response to your liking. The onboard tuner is accurate and the electronics package is well thought out. The preamp controls adjust through a very wide range of cut and boost.
The materials and finish of the guitar are beautiful--nice woods, deep gloss finish. The plastic soundhole ring is perhaps a little cheesy, but it prevents damage to the edge of the soundhole from enthusiastic picking. The neck is nicely shaped and the cutaway gives access to the higher frets. The gold hardware is pretty, but superfluous.
Why this guitar needs work
I've sampled enough of these guitars to believe that they all come through with essentially the same setup. The strings are too high at the nut and at the bridge and it's impossible to play anything intricate or fast. Most every guitar in this price range has the same flaw because manufacturers won't take the time to do a proper setup and they can't be sure that a low, comfortable action might not wind up too low once the guitar has been shipped, stored, and finally sold. You generally don't find good setup until the price goes over $1000.
I'm fortunate to have the special files to create deeper string grooves for the nut and the tools to lower the height of the bridge saddle. A proper setup on this guitar makes a world of difference in playability, but it needs more: The frets have a matte finish instead of a mirror finish, and they're somewhat flat-topped. Again, this is common in the price range. A guitar repairman can put the proper rounding on the frets and bring them to a high polish, for another major stride in playability.
The final step is to simply throw away the provided strings and replace them with high-quality strings such as Martin MarquisMartin Acoustic String Combo 3 Pack; M2100 Light Marquis Phosphor Bronze, MSP4100 Light Phosphor Bronze and MSP3100 Light 80/20 Bronze or Elixir Elixir Light Nanoweb Acoustic Guitar Strings. The provided strings are touted as anti-rust, but they are draggy, with much friction under your fingers.
With a good setup and strings, the APX900 competes with guitars that cost $400 to $600 more.

What a guitar! The newest member of the APX family, the APX900 features top-quality flamed maple back and sides and a solid spruce top. It delivers a rich, mature tone, with a punchy projection and a bright, long-ringing sustain. A lush and tonally versatile amplified repertoire comes of a newly designed 3-Band preamp, whose adjustable mid-band frequency covers a broad 80Hz - 10kHz spectrum. This not only allows control over the midrange but enables reshaping part of the low and high bands in addition to the dedicated bass and treble controls.

Recently traded in a 4 month old Epiphone Chet Atkins model for this guitar. Also have a Martin D-16RGTE Premium and this guitar sounds better! Our band plays bluegrass about 2 times a week at local pubs, etc. It gets lots of use and sounds great using a condensor microphone. Also gets a lot of looks due to the "old-timey" look. This guitar has a great feel, almost familiar. Great case included! The only issue is the hygrometer always reads "70". If that worked,I would rate it at 5 1/2!

Trinity College TM-375 Irish Bouzouki (Natural Finish, Hardshell Case)
Average Reviews:

The build quality and finish on this instrument is good. My only complaint is that the strap button was not glued in properly.
The unit arrived in it's case with an installed set of strings. The floating bridge was not set up, and was in a separate bag. No instructions whatsoever came with this unit, and they don't have a web presence. Since I hadn't set up a floating bridge before it was trial and error, but once it was set up, it sounds great tuned to GDAD.
Another concern is that the two lower courses are set up in octaves. If you want to switch these to unison, you are going to have the task of routing out the nut and bridge, as the grooves for the higher string on each of those courses is a lot thinner and wouldn't fit the thicker unison string.

Luna Muse Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic Guitar, Quilted Ash Review

Luna Muse Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic Guitar, Quilted Ash
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I started playing instruments in 1995 and started playing bass guitar in 1998. I started playing electric guitar around 2001. I custom built my first bass in 2000. This was the first acoustic guitar I have purchased. I did a lot of research and listened to the recordings on Luna's website. I had wanted to purchase the fauna phoenix, but one day I saw this one for sale for less than 250 shipped. I bought it unseen and unplayed, breaking my first rule of guitar shopping, and was very nervous before it arrived.
My apprehension was unfounded. The guitar is stunning. The abalone inlays look excellent. The wood is beautiful. Even the tuning machines look good. The physical beauty of the guitar is surpassed only by its sound. I strum it as I walk past it's stand because it just sounds so good. The harmonics are amazing.
The guitar was set up perfectly when it arrived. The strings where brand new, so it's tuning fluctuated a bit for about a week. Since then the tuning has been very stable, and the strings all seem to detune in tune with each other. The tuner makes it so this isn't a problem. The on board tuner is very convenient, so much so that I couldn't find my electric tuner when I needed it for one of my basses.
I have several friends who have played acoustic guitar much longer than I have and they all love it. From my limited experience it sounds as good or better than any other acoustic I have played. It sounds much better than my friends cheap fender, and on par or better than another friends taylor.
I only have 2 complaints. First, there is no strap button on the neck of my guitar. Second, I don't know what kind of strings are on it. I want to restring it with the same kind because they sound great. I usually try 4 or 5 different string sets before I stick with one for a guitar. However, no one has answered my questions concerning this on the Luna Guitars Forum.
This is now my favorite guitar (out of 7, basses included). If you can find one for 250, its a steal. Buy it.

The shipping was fast, and nothing was damaged. My friends(bandmates) and i were both impressed with how loud it can get. It was drowning out my friends 60watt bass amp, except the clean channel was too quiet. Maybe a clean boost pedal or something will help with the lack of volume for clean channel. But as far as practicing by myself, its plenty loud enough. After the initial excitement wore off i realized now i need to get the mg foot pedal so i can switch between channels.\m/ bye now, i'm gonna go rock the megastack for awhile.

Artists who have created groundbreaking work, toured every corner of the globe and inspired a whole new generation to pick up a guitar. No-one fits this profile better than Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine. Now Mustaine and Marshall have teamed up to deliver the Dave Mustaine signature MG Microstack—the MG15FXMSDM or Megastack for short. Like the man himself, this solid-state amplifier demanded the best possible analogue tone while taking advantage of revolutionary digital control. The Marshall Megastack from the MG series was inspired by two different pieces of gear: the MG15FX Microstack, and the 1960DM Dave Mustaine signature speaker cabinet, which features a carbon-fiber covering, diamond-design grille, and lots of Mustaine-inspired tone. The esteemed guitarist worked intensively with the Marshall development team and created 4 main sounds as the default patches and hid 4 additional tones in the amp's memory. Dave Mustaine duplicated the main sounds of his touring rig, for a total of 8 channels: 2 clean, 3 rhythm, and 3 lead solos. These tone patches will almost perfectly deliver solo sounds to perform screaming guitar shreddage. Like all the guitar amplifiers in Marshall's MG range, state-of-the-art manufacturing and stringent quality control procedures ensure that the Marshall Dave Mustaine Megastack meets the high standard of build you have come to expect from all Marshall products. No matter if this is your first ever Marshall. The tone, flexibility and feel of this compact and rugged Marshall stack is guaranteed to deliver the goods.SwitchesThe Clean/Crunch Switch selects between Clean (green) and Crunch (red) channels. I had spent the last month trying to find the perfect tube combo that packed a punch. Went through a peavey classic and a fender hot rod deluxe trying to find a tone that fit my interests, finally this amp did it for me. The cleans are so smooth and sharp, and the overdrive can be anywhere between a vox and a marshall feel. Changing channels with the footswitch really got me excited about this amp. Most of the other low watt tube amps I was considering only had one channel. And unlike most guitar players, I am not a fan of distortion pedals. I want a real drive to switch to. I like writing quiet to loud type music and this amp is perfect for that!!! When I saw it, I was not expecting what came out. It really shocked me how loud this amp could get. At only 20 watts this thing is a beast!! The reverb is pretty nice too. It has a real defined sound. Overall I do not see ever getting rid of this gem. It is the closest I have ever had to a boutique amp and I feel a little spoiled.

Average Reviews:

This is a handy and useful amplifier for learning, teaching and for small gigs. Cannot really compare this to a $2000 amplifier, but for the price paid, can't beat the value and sound tone quality. The onboard accompaniment are handy while practicing especially for timing practice. There are numerous effects like echo, delay, reverb, distortion, flanger and tremolo, which can be adjusted easily and quickly. The resulting guitar tones are great, with several amplifier emulation like the jangle of British amps, the clean tones of Marshalls, and more. The onboard chromatic tuner is very handy. Build quality is excellent, with the knobs and buttons feeling solid and have firm tactile action. The dual inputs make it easy for connecting an external drum machine for advanced practicing, or to connect a second guitar for jamming or teaching. The firmware is user updateable via a computer MIDI interface and software updates and tone customization can be done using that interface. Overall, I am happy with this purchase and this unit is an essential part of my daily practice now.

Epiphone Limited Edition 1966 G-400 Electric Guitar, Heritage Cherry Review

Epiphone Limited Edition 1966 G-400 Electric Guitar, Heritage Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this a couple months ago, and it's become my main guitar. The heritage cherry finish on the instrument is really beautiful; the picture makes it look a bit duller. Anyways, this guitar sounds great and it has all the perks of of an SG. Easy access to all 22 frets, lightweight, looks wicked. I think this guitar looks like it came straight from hell, that's how cool it is. It has a really dark brown fretboard and all the pieces are black too, so it's just a dark and mysterious masterpiece. The pickups are alright... might have to change. My only real problems with it is that it's extremely neck heavy, which is what'll happen if you buy an SG. I solve this with a Levy's suede leather guitar strap. Also, it doesn't stay in tune for longer than 2-3 days. It goes sharp or flat pretty quickly after I tune it. And the color on the fretboard rubs off on your fingers, but it's easily washed off so that's not a big deal. Other than that... Buy this guitar, you will not regret it! It's a pretty good price too.

The Epiphone Limited Edition 1966 G-400 Electric Guitar is a Gibson-authorized version of their great '66 SG with a solid mahogany body and slim-taper set mahogany neck. Some subtle-yet-significant differences make this one special. Instead of the small, lower horn-only pickguard, it has the larger pickguard so there aren't any pickup mounting rings around the high-output Alnico Classic humbuckers (the '66 SG had P-90 pickups). Separate volume and tone controls for each of the pickups give you complete control of your sound. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece provide more sustain and string changing easier. The deep double-cutaway lets you reach all 22 frets with ease.

This thing is amazing, for the price you pay you get what you deserve. For years I have been turning the guitar itself down and playing covered up in the only position that has the least amount of hum. I have spent hundreds chasing a way to control this to be a least tolerable. ISP has provided it for a couple of hundred.I Really wish they would have come up with a few years back, they would have saved me countless hours of frustration. Seriously, whether your a single coil or a hum bucker player you need this pedal. Loop or at the end of your string it is the absolute best in its category. I will never consider parting with it. Get yours today , you've read this far. Put it in the cart, you will be very glad you did. :-)

The Decimator G String is a noise reduction pedal that delivers performance like that of the renowned ISP Decimator ProRackG. The Decimator G String provides a totally independent channel of sound reduction that can be inserted into a series effects loop or after a preamp section with the advantage of having the Decimator level detectors track the guitar signal directly. With the G String pedal you can set the threshold and no matter what level of noise the Decimator will track perfectly without any side effects. And the amazing thing is that you can switch from high gain to your clean channel and never have to switch the Decimator G String off due to the threshold being set too high. It's simply transparent. The noise reducing pedal has an input to connect a guitar directly and a buffered output signal to feed the front of a guitar rig directly while providing a separate audio channel of Decimator that can be inserted in the signal chain of any guitar rig. You can insert any other pedals between the output of the Decimator G String and the input of your guitar amplifier. This allows the Decimator G String pedal to remove any level of noise you may have even with overdrive pedals at the front end of the amp.
