(More customer reviews)The carrier is convenient, sits well on my body and does not slosh around nearly as much as a vertical carrier. The front pockets are useful for gels or trash but otherwise are difficult to fit anything else into. The back pocket is a good size, although opening it up to put items in is difficult when on a person. The carrier was originally for my wife who is small but not petite and it was much too large to fit her.
The large bottle it came with slipped out of the pocket easily and if I did not correct its sitting position every 3 minutes it would slowly slide out. The bottle quality itself I felt was poor and the bottle started spraying out the sides of the lid when I squeezed on it only after a few uses. The nipple is also a love or hate design. I did replace the stock bottle with a 24oz Camelbak Podium and it fits perfectly with no movement (even after taking a nasty spill on a slippery trail hill).
I fully recommend the carrier, if you plan on replacing the bottle.

Tackling the altitude and rolling hills of Colorado's Monarch Crest trail requires extra water and gear. And for runners that like the horizontal bottle position, the Solitaire HHS is the right choice. A larger bottle holster holds a 26-ounce bottle and a roomier storage pocket on top easily accommodates a light jacket, food or even an extra 20oz water bottle.a light jacket, food or even an extra 20oz water
