(More customer reviews)forget that this is not a usa,or a custom shop for a minute.think instead of how many of us strat lovers have passed on one because of the tonal quality.a strat has all kinds of wonderful virtues, but to have one with a double humbucker p/up configuration makes some of us heavier rock players jump for joy.
first off,ilike a lighter weight guitar,i also like a maple fretboard,and a 22 fret playing surface,so 3 out of 3 there.when i first recieved it i had 9's on it.i normally play with 9's,but i wanted to experiment,and put EB power slinkys 11's on.this just added to the crunch tone i wanted.
the geniouses at fender made this body in a way that would hold the integrity of the strat as a whole, when i place the blade toggle all the way forward,i still get the searing ,screaming highs for soloing we are accustomed to.
the price point is going to throw alot of would be buyers off.i think i am getting a high quality guitar for the money.this is a well thought out adventurous guitar.i have not let go of this for over a week.i keep coming up with nice tones.
i must mention that i bought a brand new gibson flying "v" that trip as well, and though 2 very different guitars,i am having more fun with the strat. it has endless possibilities.
i have made up my mind to purchase the tele in this series also.too much value to let pass.
