Gallien-Krueger Backline 600 Bass Amplifier (300 Watt, 2 Channel) Review

I have had my Backline 600 for a about 4 years now and everything about it is superb, especially considering the price.
After some research, I found that unlike the other Backline series amplifiers the had a true professional GK Preamp. More specifically it is either the same or modeled after the famous 800rb that became a standard for big acts in the 80's and continues to be one of the most popular stage amps.
300 Watts is more than enough to power most rigs. Most 1x15 and 4x10 cabs are rated around 200 watts and full rigs like a 2x10 paired with a 1x15 blare at 4ohm.

Low Down HD400 Bass Amplifier Review

I am a fairly active musician playing several performances and am in the studio recording a few days a week. I own several bass rigs including a full tube amp, a solid state amp, and a tube hybrid. So I have a fair assortment to compare it to. I bought the amp not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. I just unplugged from my tube amp and turned on the Line 6 and was not at all impressed. However, when I got it home and began to tweek it a bit, I found it to be great sounding and a lot of fun to use... While it is a modeling amp and the amps you a are simulating will sound better. You can get some great tones without bringing the house down......Very easy to use and adjust to get a sound that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Also the ability to store a few pre-sets is cool. Works great for switching guitars, you can even set up volume changes that you experience between different instruments..(as in passive to active or 4 and 5 strings). It would also be nice to have better control of the effects. The biggest draw back that I did notice is that it may not be powerful enough for a medium to large room. Although the direct line out sound is real good.I think that I would like to have more power in the event that I need it. So I'm going to get the HD750 to have 750 watts just in case. I hate to run it flat out. My main amps stay in the studio because they are too large to move unless I have to. This head will be my new amp of choice for playing out locally... It weighs roughly 30lbs. I don't want to leave you thinking that it isn't loud enough... It's extremely loud and I'm sure can perform at volumes that you shouldn't be playing at anyway! But for the price difference between the 400 & 750, I would rather have the unnecessary power on hand..... This amp is a great value for the money... Buy it!!!

Hartke LH500 Bass Guitar Amplifier Head Review

Hartke LH500 Bass Guitar Amplifier Head

i played this head today with the Hartke VX410 cab, with my Fender Jazz bass, and i will be purchasing it very soon.
as soon as i plugged in and tweaked the EQ to what i wanted and turned up the volume,
it was EXACTLY what i've been looking for in an amp!! i've been looking for months,
with little success til i came across this gem! the controls are very simple
(four knobs, two buttons and a power switch) but the tone and range of this head is amazing.
so, to sum up; plenty of power, easy to use/simple design, decent price for a working, intermediate level
musician like myself. this head and the VX410 cab together, with tax, is right around $700. and i can almost
guarantee you won't find a better amp of this size for less than that. if you're looking for something for
mid-size venues, even larger venues; give this amp a chance! i don't think you'll regret it. thanks so much Hartke!!!!
